The Obafemi Awolowo University Alumni, Lagos Branch; as is their custom will host a special congress of the branch, tagged 2007 Alumni Re-Union.
This epoch making event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, September 13, 2007.
The Year 2007 Re-Union will feature three major events.
- The laying of the foundation of the Great Ife Resource Centre
- Inauguration of the Great Ife Distinguished Alumni Annual Lecture
- The launching of Greatife.com
The Resource Centre shall, apart from serving as the secretariat of the Association, be a centre of excellence in research and development.
It will also be utilized as a centre of interaction in Business, Profession, as well as in other areas that would be useful to Alumni members across generations.
Also, through Great Ife Distinguished Alumni Annual Lecture, the Association will be promoting constructive debate on issues concerning nation building and put at the disposal of the country; opinion, views and suggestion on how best to manage our huge human and material resources for sustainable socio-economic and political development.
The Distinguished Alumnus Lecturer for this year's lecture is
Mazi Sam Ohuanbunwa
(1975 Pharmacy Graduate),
President, Organized Private Sector of Nigeria
and Chief Executive, Neimeth Int.Pharmaceuticals.
The First Alumnus Vice-Chancellor and Chairman Ardat Scientific Limited, Professor Wale Omole will be the Chairman of the Ocassion.
The programme will be held at the Site of the Alumni Complex, Jobi Fele Way,
Ikeja Central Business District, Behind MKO Gardens,
near Regency hall, Alausa (Foundation Laying), and Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Ikeja (The Alumni Lecture).
